AH 741

Substrate type
Concrete substrates, cement and cement-lime plaster, walls made of brick, gypsum and cellular concrete blocks, cement floors, timber, gypsum boards, expanded polystyrene (EPS) and extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation.

Substrate preparation
The substrate must be sound, free from dirt and substances which may impair adhesion. The substrate cannot be frozen or frosty. The substrate can be either dry or a little damp. New plaster work and concrete should be set and seasoned. Old, loose, brittle and peeling material of poor adhesion should be removed. Do not leave sharp edges or projections. Empty joints in masonry walls should be pointed. Any chipped areas should be patched with ALPOL AZ 130 quick setting mortar or ALPOL AZ 135 levelling mortar. At least three hours prior to the application of ALPOL AH 741 compound, apply ALPOL AH 740 bitumen emulsion on the substrate.

Instructions for use
Waterproofing application:
Apply with a float or trowel, taking care to keep uniform thickness of the coat (around 1 mm). Control coat thickness by observing recommended coverage. Apply minimum two coats of the compound. Next coat should be applied perpendicularly to the previous one. Apply the following coats only after the previous ones have dried out thoroughly (1 mm coat takes around 24 h to dry at 23°C.)
Bonding EPS or XPS boards:
Apply spots of the compound on boards. Once coated with compound, press the boards slightly against the substrate surface. The bonded boards can be further worked on after 3 to 5 days, depending on weather conditions.

Tools
Steel float and trowel.

Working conditions
Work in ambient temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. Do not add any other agents to the mix. Protect from excessive drying and moisture.

Storage
Store in original, unopened packages in dry place – shelf life 12 months from production date. Protect the product from freezing. Transport in at least +5°C.

Notes
The specifications and instructions for use are given for the temperature of (23±2)°C and relative air humidity of (55±5)%. The drying time may alter in different conditions. Wear safety goggles. In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Protect your skin. Use protective clothing and gloves. Keep away from children. Use water for cleaning tools. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage caused by unskilful or inappropriate use of the product.
