In November 2008, the publisher of the Builder monthly launched a competition for the TOP BUILDER statuette. The aim of the competition was to select the best and the latest construction materials, equipment and devices in order to promote them and extend the engineering knowledge on the latest developments necessary for the construction and modernization of facilities, which should be performed in accordance with the principle of sustainable development, in a modern and deft manner, with a guarantee of high quality, durability and safety. On January 21st, at the 18th Budma International Construction Fair, official results of the TopBuilder competition for the best and the most innovative products of 2008/2009 were announced. The award ceremony was held in hall 11, commonly called the “Spire”. The idea behind the new award was to select the best and the most innovative material, technological and structural solutions that can be recommended without any hesitation. The aim of the competition organizers was to transmit a message to designers, engineers and site managers on the highest quality solutions that determine the quality and safety of all constructed facilities. 30 solutions were awarded from a large number of entries, which proves the existence of many innovative products on the Polish market. The product range was very wide, from concrete to ventilation systems. Statuettes were awarded to 25 companies. The awards were presented by prof. Leonard Runkiewicz and Danuta Burzyńska, the editor-in-chief of the Builder monthly. Although the statuettes were handed to the representatives of the winning companies, it was the products that were the big laureates, including ALPOL Clinker Nanosystem among them. The statuette and diploma for the awarded product was collected by Mr Władysław Gumułka, the President of the Board of ALPOL GIPS company.
