FAQ

Using primers before painting improves adhesion to substrate and, what is also important, significantly reduces consumption of paint. It is important to select primer which is suitable for the surface to be painted and its absorptive capacity. It is always the manufacturer to decide on appropriate primer for a specific paint. For highly absorbing surfaces finished with gypsum finish coat, it is recommended to prime the surface with the ALPOL AG 704 transparent primer for absorbing material. The surface can also be primed, as it is often done at construction sites, with the paint itself, diluted with some small amount of water. The ALPOL AF 610 paint can be diluted with water in proportion 9:1. Priming with diluted paint decreases the amount of paint used while applying the finishing coat.
