It is best to have the work done by an appropriately trained and experienced team of plasterers. It is because a sufficient number of workers must be employed to apply and trowel the plaster to ensure continuity of work and joining the plaster belts in a “wet-to-wet” system. Use a steel trowel to apply the plaster. Allow a few minutes time after application of each belt, before starting the texturing operation. Use a PVC trowel to work on the plaster texture. Do not allow the plaster to get dry before applying the following belt. On narrow walls, the plaster must be applied by at least four plasterers. The plaster is applied in belts which are as high as one scaffolding level. The first plasterer starts from the top. Once the belt of around 1.5 m in width is applied, the second plasterer begins working on the lower scaffolding level and joins the second belt with the one above. The other two plasterers perform the texturing operations in the same order. On reaching the end of wall, each plasterer descends by two levels to apply and work texture on the following belts of plaster. Once started, the work may not be interrupted until the entire wall is covered with plaster. For wider walls, the number of plasterers should be appropriately increased to ensure continuity of work.
