I am renovating my bathroom and I would like to fix new tiles to the old glazed tiles. Can I use such technique, if yes, which adhesives should I use?

It is possible to fix new tiles to the old ones, but some special conditions must be fulfilled. The surface where the new tiles are to be laid needs to be in good technical condition (clean, durable and sound). Any existing chips should be filled with ALPOL AZ 130 quick-setting mortar or ALPOL AZ 135 levelling mortar. The old tiles, after degreasing and anti-skid treatment, should be smoothed with a thin layer of adhesive in order to create a bonding layer. One day after, new tiles can be fixed to surface prepared in such way. For fixing and smoothing, flexible adhesives should be used, such as: AK 512, AK 513, AK 514 and AK 515.
