The recommended temperature for the use of the mortar of your choice is between +5 and +30°C. In lower temperatures, we recommend the use of ALPOL AZ 117 thin-layer masonry mortar for use in winter for cellular concrete and silicate blocks. This product is intended for masonry works performed in the conditions of mild winter, when the air temperature is around 0°C. In such conditions, we recommend using warm water for the batch. If there is a risk of temperature falls below 0°C during works, denatured alcohol should be added to water in the 1:9 ratio (per one 25 g bag of mortar: 4.7 l of water and 0.5 l of denatured alcohol). However, please remember that the masonry elements intended for masonry works must not be covered with frost or snow. Additionally, a freshly-built wall should be covered to protect it against unfavourable weather conditions, for example with canvas.
